Twittering around the world

The micro-blog Twitter was launched in 2006 in the United States and is now being used by private individuals, businesses and other organizations around the world as a fast and easy means of exchanging information on the Internet or using mobile phones. Registered users can create brief text messages (maximum of 140 characters). These messages can also be linked to websites with additional information of interest or be combined with photos.
